Central to urb-in’s mission is a rethinking of critical pieces of infrastructure are designed and built within the urban context. Over the course of ten years, urb-in has worked to guide the planning, design, and construction of several key pieces of urban infrastructure.
The Potrero and Embarcadero substations are two examples of how we achieve a high level of performance and design excellence. The new stations — located in the rapidly changing Dogpatch and Rincon Hill neighborhoods, respectively — represent a significant investment in infrastructure and demonstrate how an integrated design approach can elevate an unremarkable piece of infrastructure to a built asset that complements and enhances the urban fabric.
